Happy Birthday Dad!! HiJacked Blog!!

Bruce celebrated his 52nd Birthday yesterday. Hopefully he enjoyed the stormy day and received lots of well wishes from family and friends. The day was topped off with some McCain Deep n' Delicious cake courtesy of Alpine!
This photo is a couple of years old.. I wonder if the 52 year old could still handle it? :)

BRHS Variety Show

Last Thursday, Carrie performed in her high school variety show. She was in a few skits, and also followed in Victoria's footsteps, and sang for us.

New manure spreader

Today, Jesse and I went up to the farm machinery show in Moncton, and picked up our new manure spreader. We had bought our last one in 1990 and had it delivered to the farm show in 1991, so last fall when we anticipated needing a new one, we ordered it with plans to have it delivered to this years show.

Mike's Snowmobile Party

Last Friday I drove up to Quebec for the weekend. After a visit with my good friend Barry in the afternoon, I met Jim & David and we hit a few bars in downtown Montreal. Saturday got us to Mike's, and a good time was had. A good Quebec snowmobile party. Not many pictures, but they will come. This is the fire we had to warm our beers, so we could drink them when they froze.
Thanks to Jim, I have some pictures. Here is Jim and I enjoying a beer. You can't see his because I think he dropped it. He did that a few times. Dunno why.

Here I am with the sled I liked the best. Only the sober guys wore helmets. Thanks Mike for letting me use it.

We enjoyed a great BBQ, and a few beer. This was Jim's table.

I think this is where everyone else put there empties.

The morning after, before I headed home. We all enjoyed my eggs, and Jim's bacon (the whole pound) and toast, cooked by Mike, and served by Mike. No plates. Great weekend!

And seeing as we have the picture, would you believe this fellow is now the CEO of a corporation. Rothiemay Farms Ltd. Est. Mar 17, 2009 (Saint Patricks Day)

Happy Anniversary Tanya & TJ

Today, Tanya and TJ have been married 4 years. Isn't it funny how after spending so much time together, spouses start looking like each other. We all hope that you had an enjoyable day.

29 Years

Big snow storm again today. Jesse wondered why they can predict a snow storm 3 days ahead and get it right, but in the summer they tell you that you have 3 fine days and it rains the next day.Dad wonders why Jesse needs to see if his 4 wheel drive will take him through 4 foot snow drifts. (Psssst....It won't and you had to be there!!!)

Anyways, Sarah and Bruce had their 29th anniversary today, and all the local restaurants were closed due to the storm, so we stayed home and enjoyed doing our chores and ate a bag of chips. Sarah loves the barn.

A Beautiful Day

What a pretty morning it was today, especially before the wind came up and it began to feel colder.
We've had lot's of snow this winter, and lots of fun plowing it back. There is also lots of ice under the snow, and we have had to sand the driveway many times for the milk and feed trucks. And the egg truck too.
Abby loves the snow. Her puppies are all gone again, so she is experiencing that empty nest feeling.
Carrie loves digging holes in the snow. I use the same bucket to clean out the chicken barn as I do to pile up snow. Keep digging Carrie.

Grandma has a House

Grandma, of no fixed address, finally has one. She is now the proud owner of #44 of a street in Hampton. We moved in a few loads of boxes this week, and the rest of her stuff comes next Tuesday. The only things missing are the 2 cupboard doors above the fridge.

Grandma's Hemicolectomy ( Right side....)

Most of us are happy that Grandma made it through her surgery yesterday with no major blips. Apparently there is one in law that is not quite sure yet.
Anyways, I'm sure he will be happier after someone figures out how to move the heavy vehicles that are blocking the driveway to Grandma's new house. That is just about ready!!

Ski Trip to Big Rock, Mars Hill, ME, USA

Yesterday morning Carrie, her friend Lexie, and I got up really early, and drove up to Northern Maine to a ski hill we hadn't been to before. We left in the rain, arrived in the snow, and it got colder all day, but the girls had fun. We stopped in to see Sheila, Art and Grandma on the way. I think they had just got up, but the coffee was ready, so I filled up. We also got to take a picture of the worlds largest axe. Nackawic's claim to fame. Good luck tomorrow, Grandma.

New York, New York..so nice they named it twice!

Today we had breakfast at the Tick Tock diner, in the Hotel New York, then spent some time checking family connections. We found the statue of my Uncle Peter Stuyvesant, and got my picture taken with him. See any resemblance? Then we checked out Bayard Street, which is now part of Chinatown. We found Horatio Street too. Named after Carrie. We took the bus back up to the Empire State Building and found a pub at happy hour. We have 135 blocks in walking today.

Going for a Cruise

Yesterday morning we were up early for a stroll down to the pier (20 blocks), then we had a great tour of both the East River and the Hudson River, and out to the Statue of Liberty. We got great views of the city of New York and the city of New Jersey. After that we took a bus tour of Uptown Manhatten, around Central Park, lunch at TGI Fridays and back downtown. We walked around Ground Zero, and then back to back to the hotel (15 blocks), and met up with Peter and went out for a beer and snacks at the Heartland Brewery (20 blocks).

Spot the Tourist

Here is Tanya and I, caught on a web cam in Times Square. Dunno how we just happened to be standing there....hmmm...
