Stacy turns 28 today. This picture was taken a few months ago, when Tanya and Stacy had a girls day out. I think this next picture is great, she almost made it to the Valley View, too bad it was up hill. I hope you have a great birthday Stacy, or should I say had!

Spring Planting and other random stuff...
I should have got the picture of the cow and calf I had to go pick up in the field tonight. I thought I should update the blog, and start off with a picture of the last field we had planted, so as I am taking the picture, Jesse calls for me to bring trailer to get cow and new calf. This was the last field to be planted, after several fixes of tile drains, and the removal of the big pile of topsoil that was piled up 2 years ago. But no more ditch, and it looks great.
Before we planted, we needed to spread some manure on the field, and as we were unable to suck up anymore manure, we decided to take advantage of some extra time this spring has allowed, and clean out pit completely, the first time in 21 years, since we built it in fall of 1990.
So all went according to plan. Until oops...
Flat tire...
Probably should have called CAA. But it only happened once, and after that things went well. We were happy to get it all cleaned out. We also found lots of stuff we hadn't seen in awhile. Lots of chain, one with a snap that still worked, 2 hammers, several insemination tools, and on one of my first pushes across, a socket caught my eye...
Oh yes, we bought that manure spreader, mainly to spread the hen manure we have been getting, but it worked well here too.
We planted our first corn on May 14th. It was up on May 26th, which is also the day we planted our last corn. And we also planted a lot of corn for others in between. Here is the corn as I saw it while getting the cows on the morning of May 26th, a picture of a newly planted field, and a picture of the last field I had planted, with Jesse packing it, and Marty and Ross picking the last of the rocks.
Some more random pictures...
New Brillion seeder, a new diesel tank, a Mother's Day meal, Sarah presenting a Canspell award for the NB Egg Producers, Vanessa riding Banner, and Ross on a tractor.
On another front, Carrie is apparently going to graduate from high school this year. That will mark 25 years that we have had kids in school. Tanya started KG in 1987. We might be going to miss this. This weekend started with the grad BBQ yesterday, and then today we had the Baccalaureate service at the Anglican church in Springfield, after which the grads all walked to the new Belleisle Community Center, and we had an enjoyable grad banquet. A few exams this week might be necessary...
A few pics from this evening...

Happy Birthday Jesse!!!
Well... My main man turns 26 today. Gotta love him, it's great to have superman here on the farm everyday. We've had a great spring, got lots done and Jesse has been an awesome help. More than a help, he has taken over many of the jobs that used to be just mine. Thanks Jesse, and Happy Birthday!!!
